Scan Me Down..

For thousands of air passengers for Thanksgiving Day, Wednesday is the National Day of Denial, a protest that began on the Internet a little over two weeks ago, and could become a nightmare to produce long delays in checkpoints at airports. Its organizers say they want to focus the growing anger against the enhanced security procedures imposed by the Transportation Security Administration Office (TSA), which were instituted after the failed terrorist plot last month to fly cargo planes to the U.S.  The negative campaign is a small-scale rebellion in which passengers refuse to go through the 400 imaging machines that are being used in about 70 airports nationwide and opt to be searched in public, which has been criticized for being too invasive because hands slide down the genitals and breasts. A passenger who refuses to go through the scanner could mean a long day at the airport for many others. Going through a scanner typically takes between 15 and 30 seconds. While a search by a security officer will take 2 to 3 minutes.
Both methods (scanners and search) seem infringing and uncomfortable for any traveller, but due to the current situation with terrorism worldwide I think a measure of security like this one should be adopted by all airports. These scanners are only assuring passenger's safety, and being "touched" by a security officer seems far worst to me. So I say let's keep the lines moving and quit the nonsense!
What are your thoughts on the scanners?
