About a year and a half ago, I took an art appreciation course during the summer. Since I'm a true art lover I really enjoyed the course. I remember studying the works of various artists; Jean-Michel Basquiat was one of them. I must confess he and his art were new and quite impacting to me. His works took a while to get used to, they almost seemed dark and scary at first. When I visited the MAM to see the NeoHooDoo: art of forgotten faith exhibition, I had the opportunity to see some of Basquiat's neo-expressionist paintings, which I considered quite intricate and surprisingly interesting.
