::Falling for fall fashion::

I came across Shaina Mote's spring/summer line not too long ago, and was really fond of it. It had some really fresh whimsical pieces. Turns out, that today I saw the new fall collection, and it appears to be just as awesome. She has incorporated 1940's menswear with wonderful feminine pieces. The collection also includes some marvelous silk dresses, and great blouses.
Check it out

:: Love Leica ::

Ever since I came across this camera I've fallen in love with it. They are top quality, and according to reviews, truly exceed expectations. Wish I had one of my own.. too bad they are so very pricey (>_<) Don't think I'll be spending $14,000 on a camera any time soon. Either way, doesn't hurt to look at it  LOL :)

Here is the M7 Hermes edition in Hermes Orange

::Neo-expressionism::

About a year and a half ago, I took an art appreciation course during the summer. Since I'm a true art lover I really enjoyed the course. I remember studying the works of various artists; Jean-Michel Basquiat was one of them. I must confess he and his art were new and quite impacting to me. His works took a while to get used to, they almost seemed dark and scary at first. When I visited the MAM to see the NeoHooDoo: art of forgotten faith exhibition, I had the opportunity to see some of Basquiat's neo-expressionist paintings, which I considered quite intricate and surprisingly interesting. Here are a few of his works, what do you think of neo-expressionist art?

::For thought's sake!::

Lately I've been studying and comparing the theories of Aristotle and Plato. I would say that the most controversial opposing theory of the two will have to be on the subject of conceptualization of reality.

Plato believed in the duality of two worlds: the sensible world and the world of ideas.) For Plato the materiality of things, what falls under the action of the senses, is no more than a world of appearances and shadows. He explains his conceptualization of reality through he myth of 'the allegory of the cave'. With this myth Plato intends to signify that men live like they are locked away in a cave, and that the knowledge they have of things that surround them is not real knowledge, but merely an opinion, a dim reflection of the true reality.
Aristotle on the other hand, thought that Plato was unrealistic. He believed that reality could not be found in a world apart from the separate ideas of the sensible world, claiming it was an unnecessary duplication of things. Aristotle believed in what he could see, in palpable evidence.
If you lived in Athens Greece 320 B.C, which theory do you think would've had your support?

::For the Children::

It sometimes becomes difficult to choose a trustworthy and legitimate organization to make donations to. Save the Children is an organization that helps improve and change the life of children in the U.S and all around the world. They work with non-profits, governments, and other organizations, and through these collaborations they reach the heart of the communities in need of help. Save the Children acts rapidly when disasters occur worldwide, providing the necessary food and first aid for all the children they can reach, they also remain to help rebuild communities. Other than providing aid during emergencies, Save the Children ameliorates the every day struggle that many children are forced to encounter, by working to resolve illiteracy, hunger, and diseases.
For more information visit their website www.savethechildren.org where you can also view the different sponsoring programs, and where the donation process is quick and easy. Also in the website, you can sponsor a child for only $24 a month,  and you have the opportunity of choosing the child you will sponsor, by looking at pictures of different children from various countries.
Donating or sponsoring children through Save the Children is completely secure, and it is worth mentioning that 90% of their expenditures was used on program services.

::Inception::

Hello everyone! It took a couple of days to decide whether I would create a blog or not. On one hand, I truly wished for my own blog, but on the other, I wasn't sure on whether I would have the sufficient time to invest in it. Obviously, the the desire to have my own blog was victorious, and here I am.
This blog will not be on a particular subject, but rather on different things that come to my mind. Here, I will post about things that interest me, hoping that it will also catch the attention of the readers. (Yes, I mean YOU) ;)
At Wanderings of a Thought-Provoking Muse, you can find anything from fashion, and interior design, to travels, politics, and good eats.

May you all enjoy!

Ana
